Reporting to the Director of Athletics, the Head Swim Coach will coordinate and manage all aspects of the St. Joseph’s Prep Swim program.


  • Organize and manage schedules for meets, practices and conditioning workouts in Fall, Winter and Spring Crew seasons

  • Organize and lead practices and set training plans for all swimmers. Provide direct coaching and feedback both in and out of the pool

  • Coordinate meet planning, ensuring registration by established deadlines.

  • Foster a healthy team environment that inspires teamwork, respect, commitment, and a love of swimming.

  • Lead a program that consistently attracts and retains student athletes.

  • Work with alumni, parents and administration on fundraising

  • Develop and communicate clear and specific goals for the SJP Swim team and individual swimmers

  • Maintain open and honest communication with swimmers, parents, alumni, other coaches and administration.

  • Develop and demonstrate a good knowledge base of best practice specific to Swimming

  • Support and collaborate with coaches in other SJP athletic programs.

  • Support student academic expectations, responsibilities, and achievements.

  • Be a positive role model in personal management, appearance, ethics, and behavior.

  • Develop and maintain relationships with collegiate coaches to assist SJP swimmers with college placement.

  • Ensure that the team, the swimmers, and the coaching staff are all in compliance with PIAA, Archdiocesan and school regulations.

  • Supervise and develop Swim assistant coaching staff.

WCAC Swimming & Diving - Assistant Swim Coach – Girls & Boys, WCAC is a competitive swim club consisting of close to 200 swim team members.  The club is part of the Suburban Aquatic League (SAL) and includes USA registered swimmers, varying from beginning swimmers to swimmers that compete at Junior Olympics.  This season will mark the first full season for WCAC in the new Natatorium at Wissahickon High School.  The SAL season runs from September through early February, the USA Team trains and competes 11 months a year.     


The assistant coach will help guide and grow the WCAC program to the highest attainable levels of competitive excellence in individual and team performance while fostering a positive environment that fulfills the goals of the WCAC board.  WCAC promotes an atmosphere that stresses a unified team concept and emphasizes the importance of individual’s contributions to the team.   


Ø  Good communicator with swimmers, ages 4-18:

o   A passion for the sport and an ability to inspire WCAC swimmers

o   Uses positive reinforcement, goal setting, team identity and motivational techniques to assist swimmers in meeting their personal goals and potential.

o   Maintains a professional and responsible attitude and demeanor, which ensures that WCAC members have an enjoyable and successful experience while learning good sportsmanship

o   Teach stroke technique, starts, turns and finishes.  Reinforce and improve skills throughout the season.

Ø  Excellent teaching skills and technical knowledge of competitive swimming

Ø  Able to work with colleagues to recommend practice level placement and changes for swimmers throughout the season.

Ø  Able to attend all SAL dual meets (held on Saturdays from November through January)

Ø  Able to attend SAL Invitational Meets, as needed (usually held on Sundays, schedule is rotating)

Ø  Availability for practices approximately 8-10 hours/week

Position Available: RAC Head Coach/Assistant Head Coach. Radnor Aquatic Club is seeking a qualified candidate to take on the role of USA Swimming Head Coach/Assistant Head Coach.  The Radnor Aquatic Club is a year round club of over 200 swimmers located in Radnor, Pennsylvania.  The club is a member of the Suburban Aquatic League and carries a dual meet schedule associated with the league.  The club also regularly attends USA meets, approximately 1-2 per month.  Our current focus is to expand our USA swimming presence while maintaining our SAL roots.

This a full time position scheduled to start in the fall of 2018.  

The successful candidate will have the following characteristics:

Duties will include:

Hatboro-Horsham Aquatic Association (HHAA) is seeking a Head Swim Team Coach and Assistant Coach

HHAA is seeking energetic, experienced, passionate, professional candidates for the positions of Head Swim Team Coach and Assistant Swim Team Coach to begin in September 2018. HHAA is a competitive swim and dive club, located in Horsham, PA, with athletes at all levels of experience, varying from beginners and pre-team to competitors at Junior Olympics and Senior Champs. HHAA competes in the Suburban Aquatic League (SAL) and Mid-Atlantic USA Swimming.

The SAL season runs from September through February including Monday through Friday practices, 5 dual meets in November and December, 2 dual meet finals in January and 2 championship meets in January/February.  Local travel is required for away meets. 

Candidate Requirements:

- Knowledge and ability to communicate proper stroke technique instruction and development, dry land conditioning, and taper strategies for all levels of swimmers

- Minimum of 1-3 years coaching experience

- Level 3 ASCA certification (preferred)

- Current USA Swimming Coach Certification in good standing (preferred)

- 4-year college degree (preferred)

- Working knowledge of Hy-Tek Team Manager & Meet Manager (preferred)

- Must pass USA Swimming coach background checks

- American Red Cross CPR and First Aid are required

- Create an atmosphere that encourages good sportsmanship and team spirit

HEAD COACH WANTED: Wissahickon Community Aquatic Club (WCAC), a parent run swim and dive program, has just moved into a new state of the art natatorium complex at the Wissahickon High School in Ambler, PA. The club is seeking an experienced, committed and motivated individual who can identify goals and put in place plans to grow the various WCAC programs. Currently WCAC's primary focus is the community based swim and dive team, comprised of 200+ swimmers and divers. The boys and girls teams participate in the Suburban Aquatic League during the winter. The club is also a member of USA Swimming. The USA Swimming program is a year round program with approximately 45 swimmers.

The ideal candidate for WCAC is personable, a certified coach and has experience building a successful swim program at WCAC, this role will:

- Be responsible for all levels of the aquatics program

- Ensure the optimal number of coaches and set a coaching structure to support competitive SAL, USA swim and dive teams

- Design and oversee training plans for all team members

- Oversee the progression of team members

- Set performance goals & reports for the program

- Facilitate an age appropriate goal setting process for all team members

- Establish an environment that fosters positive team attitudes (both staff & athletes), that encourage self-discipline, self reliance and sportsmanship

- Recruit and retain staff within budget

- Plan and direct staff meetings at least once/month

- Provide annual staff development goals and set the training program for educating, supervising, and mentoring all coaches

- Communicate regularly and appropriately with Clubs membership via monthly newsletter, team/group meetings, emails, and/or individual meetings/conferences when needed

- Administer and support WCAC policies and procedures with membership and staff

- Support and facilitate annual strategic planning process and review

- Market and promote the programs of WCAC

- Develop and implement incentive and recognition/achievement programs that are age appropriate for team members

- Coordinate daily, monthly and season use of WCACs pool time


- 4-6 years coaching experience, ASCA level 3 or higher a plus
