Part Time Assistant Coach Dolphins Community Aquatics (DCAA) (04/16/2024)

Dolphins Community Aquatics Assoc (DCAA) is a parent/head coach board managed 501(c) (3) organization located in Hatboro, PA. We are currently accepting applications for part time assistant age group swim coaches. DCAA is a swim and dive program with 150 SAL members training September – January and 60 USA Swimming members training and competing year round. Swimmers’ ages range from 6 to 18 years old and skills from Minis to Junior/Senior Champs level.

Job Responsibilities

  • Conduct practice 2 to 3 evenings per week under the direction of the head coach. Hours between 5:30 and 9PM, primarily during the school year.
  • Provide feedback to athletes on stroke technique, starts, turns, and finishes during daily training sessions.

Candidate Qualifications

  1. Technical knowledge of current stroke technique and the ability to communicate age appropriate instruction to swimmers at different competitive levels.
  2. Self-motivated and energetic with a passion for the sport of swimming and desire to work with young swimmers in a family type team setting.
  3. Pennsylvania Clearances will be required.

SACAC - Assistant Swim Coach (07/28/2023)

Attention all swim coaches! The Souderton Area Community Aquatics Club is looking for fun, experienced assistant swim coaches to add to our swim family this winter season. The SACAC winter swim season begins in September and concludes in mid-February. Our swimmer age ranges are as young as 5 through age 14 with clearances required for coaching on deck. Requirements include coaching 2-3 nights per week arriving by 5:30pm and coaching through our late group wrapping at 9pm. Weekend dual meet and some invitational attendance required. Salary is hourly and based on experience. USA Swimming certification is a plus. If you have a passion for coaching and want to make a difference in kids’ lives, this job is for you! Job Description:

The Director of Competitive Swimming and Diving is expected to provide leadership, plan, organize, and be responsible for a comprehensive and competitive year-round swim program as well as present an enthusiastic professional looking Team. This position reports to the Team Board of Directors.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement and maintain a season plan for the entire competitive team that is shared and communicated with all club members annually.
  • Development of lower-level to elite swimmers, teaching appropriate progressive swimming techniques necessary for successful swim meet participation - proper stroke mechanics and breathing, starts, turns, finishes and conditioning through utilization of water practice, as well as dry-land training.
  • Enables swimmers to develop and improve their technical skills, build endurance, and orient to competition in an organized, fun, challenging and supportive environment.
  • Know, respect and abide by all USA Swimming and SafeSport regulations and policies, and ensure swimmer and coach compliance.
  • Create and maintain a positive learning environment and team culture. Foster team unity and sportsmanship.
  • Hire, mentor and supervise assistant coaches; evaluate progress, give constructive feedback, and ensure assistant coaches are fulfilling job functions and making a positive contribution to the team culture and the development of individual swimmers.
  • Provide goal setting objectives and feed to provide direction, enhance motivation, and build confidence. Demonstrate respect and appreciation for both effort and positive results.
  • Establish and maintain a positive and professional working relationship with parents, officials, coaches from other clubs, and Board Members.
  • Demonstrate mature judgment, reliability, and ethical behavior including punctuality, confidentiality, and ability to function in a multi-task environment.
  • Assure the operation of a safe and effective aquatic environment.
  • Consult with the Team Board of Directors to ensure a timely completion of meet entries and registrations. Advise head and assistant coaches to ensure swimmers are participating in a variety of events at meets.
  • Promptly communicate with swimmers and parents to provide meet information, results, and feedback.
  • Facilitate meetings with swimmers to discuss goals, progress, areas for improvement, and concerns.
  • Ensure a safe, clean, and organized pool area. Communicate any areas of concerns to the Aquatics Director.
  • Attend and participate in all team sponsored social events.
  • Complete all other duties and projects as assigned by the Team Board of Directors.

Experience/Requirements

  • A minimum of four consecutive years of previous coaching experience with USA Swimming or other organization withinthe past five years to include two years’ experience as a Head Coach, Lead Coach, or the like, at the discretion of USA Swimming Sport Development Staff.
  • Current USA-Swimming certifications including SafeSport, Concussion Protocol Training, Safety Training for Swim Coaches, Water Safety Instructor, and coaching membership in good standing.
  • Attend all scheduled practices; assist/guide coaches with practice; give instruction and feedback on training and technique.
  • Passionate about aquatics, and the teaching and development of athletes.
  • Maintain professional relationships with coaches, athletes, and their families.
  • Possess strong problem-solving skills, with the capacity to act rational and calmly in all situations.
  • History of coaching kids to Junior Nationals preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge of stroke mechanics, strategies, and techniques for competitive swimming.
  • Experience and/or degree associated with developmentally appropriate teaching and instructional techniques.
  • Proficient use of Meet Manager / Team Manager / Team Unify software.
  • Current certifications from the Red Cross or other equivalent agency: Lifeguard / First Aid / Adult & Pediatric CPR and AED.
  • Must pass all required background checks.

Head Coach, Radnor Aquatic Club

Assistant Coach, Lower Moreland Swimming (LMOR)

LMOR is currently seeking a knowledgeable, energetic and reliable applicant for our assistant coach position. The assistant coach reports directly to the Head Coach and is responsible for on deck coaching of our: developmental group, age group and senior level groups. This is a year-round position, approximately 20-25 hours per week to start and there are opportunities to increase responsibilities as the fall season approaches. The Assistant Coach may be asked to attend competitions as well. The assistant coach  may also have the opportunity to instruct swim lessons in the private, semi-private and group lesson capacity, for additional income.

Duties are to include, but are not limited to:

  • Directly coaching 20-30 developmental swimmers, 40-50 age group swimmers, 30-40 senior level swimmers at practices and meets 
  • The swim coach is responsible for providing opportunities for youth to succeed, develop and strengthen physical and social skills through practices and competition, as well as being responsible for the safety of swimmers and following Fitness & Wellness guidelines.
  • Working collaboratively with the Head Coach and other full-time coaches/ instructors to set group progressions, team goals, and program goals.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Head Coach.
  • Must truly enjoy working with kids, have a sense of humor, and an ability to meld with the training philosophy of a different coach/program.

Qualifications:
We are looking for a reliable, responsible, and driven individual with high energy and enthusiasm. A successful applicant must have a passion for the sport; prior coaching experience and demonstrate an ability to communicate effectively with superiors, parents and connect with children/ teenage swimmers.
USA coaching credentials are preferred, but we will train the right person. American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor required

Pool Assistant - Upper Moreland

The Upper Moreland Township School District has an immediate opening for an instructional pool assistant to work at the Upper Moreland Middle School. This position is responsible for providing assistance to the teachers who are instructing students in the pool.  Requirements include the ability to work well with students, good decision making abilities and strong communication skills. SACAC is a member of the Suburban Aquatic League and participates in league dual meets, as well as USA meets.  A successful candidate must  be able to work with all age group swimmers, as well as, our US program.

PENN Aquatics-Assistant Coach

Due to PENN Aquatics swim team growth in the past couple years, we are looking for qualified Coaches to also help grow our staff!  Our team has swimmers of all abilities from beginners to experienced athletes.  PENN takes pride in developing talent!  PENN is a USA Swimming Registered Swim Club consisting of over 100 swimmers of various levels and competes in both the Suburban Aquatic League (SAL) and USA Swimming.

We are looking for an individual who works well with others, is passionate about swimming and has strong communication and people skills.  This individual will be dedicated to laying foundations necessary for athletes to be successful throughout their entire career.

Job Requirements

  1. Safety Certifications: Current CPR Certification, First Aid (or Lifeguard) Certification, and Safety Training for swim coaches (available at www.usaswimming.org).
  2. Experience working with athletes ages 5 to 18
  3. Experience teaching lessons or Coaching
  4. Participate in weekend swim meets as required
  5. If not already CPR Certified/ Registered USA swim coach, candidate can complete certifications upon hiring
