SAL Dual Meet Match Ups with Diving Plan B
General points
- Whichever team is hosting the boys meet, will have first right of refusal for hosting the diving meet.
- Alternate matchups, the team listed first has the first right of refusal
- Alternate diving match-ups were created when a team was assigned an opponent that does not have diving. The diving team was assigned a team from a different division so as to avoid having multiple meets against the same teams. Due to the number of teams without diving, this would have resulted in a large number of tri-meets with the same teams needing to have multiple tri-meets. To avoid frequent tri-meet situations, when necessary, teams that are scheduled to have a BYE week, are being pulled in to provide a diving opponent.
- In all of the alternate matchup scenarios, the team without the opponent is earning points for their club team in their assigned meet. The accommodating team is not earning points. They are simply participating in order to make a legal meet. For example: team A is competing against team B, which does not have diving. Team A forms a different meet with team C (the accommodating team). Team A’s points then count toward the team total for Team A vs Team B. Team C has a bonus meet.
- In some situations we were able to match two teams that each were scheduled against a team that did not have diving (such as 11/9 in the southwest division).
- In some situations, there was only one team available that could be a potential competitor (not already competing against the team). In this case, the assignment was made (as was the case with 11/9 in the northwest division).
- In other cases, there were two or more options. In these cases, the available teams are listed and the team without the opponent can request from one of the available options to schedule a meet (as in the case of 11/23 in the Southwest Division).
- In all cases, the accommodating team (the one filling in for the opponent without diving) has the first right of refusal to host.
- Central Division. Because DCAA and HHAA are sharing a facility and a coach, in weeks when both teams are competing, the teams will need to have a quad meet. This is the case week 1 and week 3. In week 4 (12/7), DCAA is scheduled against HHAA. In this case, as NAC needs an opponent, they will enter into a Tri-meet with HHAA and DCAA. As in the case of the alternate match-ups, NAC is earning points toward their scheduled meet that week. DCAA and HHAA are considered to be accommodating teams.
Play off and Championship meets
- 12/14/2024 meet: Northwest vs Southwest division and Central vs. Eastern Division. The top boys team in each division will compete against each other, the top girls team in each division will compete against each other to go to the championship meet on 1/4/2025; the remaining teams will compete against teams with similar records.
- 1/2/2025 meet: Championship teams will be determined from the 12/14/2024 meets. Remaining teams will compete against teams across the League with similar records considering travel distance.
